Meet Emma O'Callaghan

Yoga teacher, Pilates teacher, wife and mum of two, Emma has had a passion for movement and dance for as long as she can remember.

Emma is bringing her almost 2 decades of Pilates teaching knowledge to the festival this year with a Pilates for Yogis class that you are just going to love.

Emma has been teaching Pilates for almost 17 years, having trained in classical Pilates at The Pilates Institute, London under the guidance of Michael King and Malcolm Muirhead. But this self confessed anatomy geek has many strings to her bow. She is a Personal Trainer & Sports Massage Therapist with a keen focus on functional fitness and rehabilitation plus she teaches vinyasa yoga, kids and family yoga and Menopause Yoga. How she has time to walk her dog and indulge in her secret obsession, crafting, I have no idea!

The Pilates Method was devised by Joseph Pilates in the mid 1920’s and was one of the first exercise systems in the West to take a holistic approach to fitness and wellbeing. “Contrology” as Joseph Pilates called it  (renamed Pilates after his death) is based on the idea of muscle control – stretching and strengthening the muscles whilst improving flexibility and balance. “Contrology develops the body uniformly, corrects wrong postures, restores physical vitality, invigorates the mind, and elevates the spirit.” – Joseph Pilates

Emma's "Pilates for Yogi" class is really relevant for developing stability in your body on and off your yoga mat.
